Our Future – Capital and Members

The Harlaw Hydro project has reached this stage thanks to the enthusiasm and generosity of a number of people who have given their time, money  skills.  With good maintenance our turbine could last for 50 years.

At present a substantial part of our revenue comes from the government through the Feed in Tarriff.  This encouragement to generate green electricity runs for 20 years, it comes to an end in 2035.

The society is owned and run by its members and to be sustainable it needs to retain existing members and enrol new ones.

Capital Repayment

Before the FiT ends the board aims to reduce the debt to our members substantially and to enrol new members.  Lowering the debt increases the annual donation to the community through BVT and enrolling new members it is hoped will sustain the society into the future.   To this end members are invited reduce their holding,   A single share is all that is required to be a member of the society.

New Members

New members are invited to purchase 1 share.  Click here to download an application form.  While the society does not need more capital new members will help to secure the future of this wonderful community asset.
